Isn't it possible to resample them instead of cropping?

I find the cropping to be a very good idea. Makes the people interested and curious about the rest of the photo and clicking to the gallery. If they could see the whole picture in the widget they have not reason to go to the gallery too.

yea, would love to see the crop feature implemented

Will the user be able to crop the image?
What does the thumbnail show? A "random" part of the image, or will the user be able to define (crop) this too?

Just for your information. It has been edited (for 1.1.0) to work well on dark styles.

There is no. Because we have "original photo" so we have to keep the original size so auto-resize option might not be implemented.

I am getting an error message "your photo is too big" even when max photo size setting is correct in ACP and picture falls under that size as well. It always seems to stop at 90%.

It says you really shouldn't touch this setting in description if: NOTE: It is recommended you to leave this setting alone if you are using shared host or even VPS for better performance. I am on shared host.

It is ok if you allow small photo size but if you allow big size to be uploaded, it must be increased. What is your limitation for photo size in User Group Permission?
