I have no problems at all on my tablet.
I assume this is part of the reason why it's not been addressed. It seems to be a problem for some but fine for others, even on the same hardware/software.

Well it was only reported a few days ago so Mike will investigate it as far as is reasonably practicable (i.e. not having access to multiple devices).
This particular bug report is a few days old, which is what Paul means.
I didn't experience any noticeable lag with the following devices: iPhone 5S, iPad 4, iPad mini with Retina Display, iPad Air, Nexus 5 (phone) and Nexus 7 (tablet).
However, I did experience lag with the following devices: iPad 1, iPad 2, iPad 3, Amazon's Kindle Fire HD and Tesco's HUDL.
I've identified an area where it was a bit slow and it was noticeable with backspacing for example. However, I didn't feel the delays were horrendous on either my Galaxy S2 (running non-standard 4.1 ROM) and my 2012 Nexus 7 (running 4.4.2), but this is definitely improved.
I've just rolled this out here. Can anyone who had particularly bad lag issues give it a shot here?

I'll second this...I found that it is one more thing members are complaining about.can we manually implement the fix now?
