Simple Forms [Paid] [Deleted]

We are quite happy with version 1.2.4 of XF and aren't planning to upgrade to 1.3 until version 1.3.1 or version 1.3.2 is out. What do you recommend for people in our situation?

2.0.2 is still available for all clients and it support 1.2. It does not have the latest features, but does indeed work. A lot of 1.3 functionality was included in 2.1 and allowed us to create new features easily for that release. I do apologize for the inconvenience.
 
Thank you for the prompt response. Updates are free for as long as we have support, right?

Is there a way to experiment with the software before buying? You probably have plenty on your hands with updating the software, but a test forum where we could log in as admin and make our own forms would be wonderful.

That is correct. After purchasing you are good for 1 year and the renewal fee is now $5 per year.

As of now we do not have a demo forum, but we will look into it. I'm not sure how to set up XF in demo mode so it's locked down, so it will require some investigative work.
 
Is there a way to add arbitrary HTML or BBCode text above all of the fields and below the fields? We want to have considerable introductory content above and explanatory content below the actual form fields.

Sure, there is a "Pre-Text" and "Post-Text" section for each field. It has a WYSIWYG editor present, so you can adjust copy there.
 
Hmmm.... would that be indented like a field, though? The text that I am thinking of isn't logically grouped with any particular field, so we want it visually to look apart from the field. The partner that we are working with has a marketing budget in the tens of thousands of dollars, so we need everything to look right.

Nope, it's not indented. It's designed look like an introduction and it's own separate bit of text.
 
Thanks and thanks for the super-quick replies that would even make Brogan proud. I think that this will meet our needs and we'll be purchasing later and installing 2.0.2.

A Question - how can i customize the output of a form (in a new thread eg) so the field title and the field value is on the same line and not separeted in two lines in default? And how can i make the titel of a field bold and not the value?

Hi otto,

In any destination you set up, there is a field called "Template". There you can specify how you want all fields and values to be represented. It supports the use of BBCODE for threads/posts/conversations and HTML for emails. So feel free to adjust to your hearts content. Keep in mind that the functionality for hiding empty fields is gone once you start using custom templates.
 
ok - i see the field called Template and i will make the field title of the field called "Status" so the font is italic eg.
I type in the Template field:

is this correct? If yes ... cool stuff. :D ;)

And how i make the title and value use the same line?

That should work fine. Then simply keep the value on the same line. It won't use a linebreak unless you create one.

Its a bug or a feature? o_O

The situation:
I have 2 forum nodes: A-Forum and B-Forum, i make one form called "Links" and in this form a make two destinations called "A-Forum-Link" and "B-Forum-Link".
In this destinations i set correctly the node ID's in one destination for A-Forum and in the second for B-Forum.
In my forum node settings from A-Forum and B-Forum iam in "Replace Create New Thread button" section set the correct form name ( "Links" ) and give the Button in A-Forum and B-Forum the same Name: "insert a Link".

Then the Issue:
When i now going into A-Forum or B-Forum and fill out the form "Links" (click the button "insert a Link"), it generates me in both forum's the identical new thread entry and not only one thead antry in this forum who i pressed the Button "insert a Link".

What make i wrong? :confused:

I would make one form with 10 destinations and use this 10 destinations in 10 forum's - why can i do this, so the form's create only one entry in the right forum?

You understand me? ( my english is horrible - sorry )

And also - its possible to make the addon, so we can clone destinations?

I'm sorry, I'm having a hard time following. Perhaps open a ticket and include screenshots.
