Setting up a private test installation

I saw somewhere recently that we are allowed to have an additional installation on one license if it is used for testing and is password protected for only me and my staff. How can I set this up? Are there any other requirements I should know about? Thanks.

Just password protect the test forum after installing the script and you're good to go, (to my knowledge)
Edited: you can't use the forum as a "member private forum", btw. (you get the idea / only for testing).

You may create a single additional test installation for the purpose of testing the Software.
Any test installation of this kind must be password protected, and access to it must be limited to You and Your website staff.

You have a CPanel server. You can password protect directories in CPanel.
