Sending thank you message for upgrades

If I understand it correctly, when a member buys an "upgrade" they get a thank you page displayed? I'd like to automatically send anyone who upgrades a personal private message (conversation) to thank them for upgrading and supporting the forum. Does anyone know if there is an easy way to do this?

After purchase there are a number of options provided by PayPal. One of those is to return back to your site, I can't remember what the other one is - presumably some page on PayPal.

Clicking to return you back to your site takes you back to this page:

account/upgrade-purchase

Which looks like this:



You can edit the template responsible for that page:

account_upgrade_purchase

Not sure if the template is the same but you can personalise the message that sends.

Its not a conversation but I think there's an addon.

There are some addons that will send a PM with a custom thank you message... there are also add-ons that will remind users of expired upgrades before and after.
