I'd like some thoughts and opinions on RTS HQ please. This is a gaming forum - of which I am aware there are many - which aims to be a little different. The RTS HQ Hub is a companion to a Wordpress blog which is intended to cover real-time strategy gaming news. By keeping the niche tight, and focusing on a demographic which is a little older, I'm confident hoping we can attract a solid user base. RTS gamers tend to be a little older and, consequently, more familiar with the medium of forums.

The real-time strategy genre is undergoing something of a renaissance currently with a large number of indie developers working on RTS titles. I have been in touch with many and by building relationships with them, and offering solutions they wouldn't normally have access to with the typical Discord server. Forums are far superior in cataloguing and presenting information than Discord and can be indexed by search engines in a way Discord servers cannot. My plan is that I can offer indie developers exposure and a readily available potential customer base, and they can attract users and activity.

We're still in the early stages and not "officially" open. When we do open our doors and start to market the forum, we'll be running contests and tournaments.

I have deliberately kept the look and feel of the forum simple and uncluttered. I considered gamification features and while not entirely ruled out at this time (this is, after all, a community for gamers) I want to focus on content first.
