RM 1.1 Resource opens in new window instead of same window

When the resource link within the forums (discussion area first post automatically generated) is clicked "Read more about this resource" it opens in a new window and logs the user out. This doesn't happen with any other resource links or tabs as they open in the same window.

I've obviously overlooked a setting somewhere but I can't work it out could someone please let me know how I can make the link from within the forums (first post "read more about this resource") open the recourse in the same window?

Here's a link to an example on my forum

Cheers, Mark

I bet it works right if you go to this page, right?

The difference is one URL has www. at the beginning and the one you posted doesn't.

It appears as though your Board URL is www.homemumsanddads.com but you're browsing the site using homemumsanddads.com.

As far as your browser is concerned they are two completely different websites -- you actually could configure it to serve two completely different websites from a www. and a non www. address.

First thing to do is decide what your URL is... is it http://www.homemumsanddads.com or is it http://homemumsanddads.com?

Then, look into automatically forwarding requests to the correct URL. Your host or server person should be able to do this quite easily.

Thanks for that - yeah it does work correctly when I go to the www. address. I have absolutely no idea why I have two URLs and I certainly didn't intentionally try to make it without the www. (I wouldn't know how to). I'll do as you say and investigate through my host why this is happening and try to get my site back to the one URL.

I appreciate your help Chris.

From the FAQ:

How can I redirect all traffic to the www or non-www version of my site?
If you are on an Apache server, this can be achieved by editing the .htaccess file. Refer to the discussion thread in the forum for more information.
Note that any custom rewrite rules must come before the XenForo rewrite rules.

Thanks Brogan, this will come in real handy because my host has no idea at this point in time so it will be up to me to solve it.

Yeah, true story, they have to get back to me because initially he didn't believe it was a problem (he said he found no issue personally) so I copied your post and reiterated what I wrote on my ticket and basically said yes it IS an issue but haven't heard back.

Anyway, I'll read the FAQ and the thread and I should be able to work it out I reckon (it might take me a bit of time lol but I'll get there) so thanks again.

Here's the reply from my host:
The type of support which you are requesting is more in depth with designing and developing your site than we are able to provide. Unfortunately, we, at ..............., provide support for server related issues and basic installation and uninstallation of scripts. We regrettably do not support scripting, tutorials on third party installations, or designing of websites. Our suggestion would be to first see if there are any tutorials that can help on tutorials.something.com, in helpdesk.something.com, or in somethingforum.com. If you cannot find any information there, we would suggest contacting a web developer or web designer who can give you personalized support, as this will be the most effective way to accomplish what you are asking.

We do appreciate your business and look forward to assisting you in the future.

How did we do? Please help us improve the support that we offer you

I have altered my .htaccess as per http://xenforo.com/community/threads/my-htaccess-file-to-redirect-non-www-to-www.8232/ I've tried all the examples and settled using the code including the full forum url. The thing is it seems to be redirecting in IE only and not in other browsers (fox, chrome, safari) so if I type without the www. into the address bar in these other browsers it won't redirect to the www. url but it does in IE so that's good at least and it's no longer logging me out now either.

Also, it seems if I have created content previously under the non www. url (such as an article from Xenzine which displays a similar "read more" thread in the forums like Resource Manager) the link will still open in a new window under the non www. url.

I guess I should go and find the links to the non www. urls and somehow redirect them to the www? And, could someone please check for me and see if they also are not getting redirected in other browsers when the url homemumsanddads.com is typed into the address bar in case it's just my PC.

I hope I am making some sense here... I think I'm confusing myself - my brain's hurting
