Lack of interest Avatar opens in a new window

When you look at a user profile and click on the avatar, it opens in a new page.
Wouldn't it be more correct if it opened like the profile preview when you look at a thread?

Thanks, I couldn't think of the word in English... I actually meant that the avatar should open in a lightbox because it doesn't make sense that it opens as an image with a url.

I was thinking about this post of mine and how such a nonsense hasn't been fixed in almost two years...
My post was flagged for "lack of interest," but this change doesn't really serve the form, so it doesn't matter if anyone is interested. Just as you realize it doesn't make sense for your avatar to open in a completely blank window, fix this issue that most likely no one sees, but it's still an improvement that should be made in the interest of continually improving your product.

I'd rather they make it so the avatars aren't links at all than spend time doing this.

Given that avatars are resized, it would be more accurate to display them in their entirety when clicked. For example, mine is rectangular when viewed at full size, not square as shown in profile messages.
And in any case, it's better not to display it even at full size, rather than displaying it full size in a new window with a white background...
To fix this, all it takes is a small line of code and 10 seconds...
