XF 1.4 Resource and it's thread both show in search

Our users just use the main big search for everything. When they search for a resource title, they get two results which looks bad.... the resource itself and the thread created when you create a thread.

How do I remove the thread from the search results? I can do this in settings for the resource category right and the node the thread is created in.

There's no option to remove individual threads from the search index.
