receiving e-mail-notification on "New Thread" in the Forum

I just got a question from one of my members in my Forum:

is it possible to receive an e-mail-notification on new threads ?

As my Forum is build from scratch and does not have many users, it would indeed be a great idea to send an e-mail-notification to the registered members to have them join the discussion.

Anybody out there who can create this as an Add-on ?
Of course I would prefer to have this as default in XF (as an option to turn on and off), definitely great for Forums build from scratch and increase user-interaction and postings.
