Random Username Generation

Hello,

I'd like to create a system where the username field is no longer shown on the registration page, and the username is automatically replaced by a generated one (the random username generation is not the issue here, just how to actually give it to a registering user).

If anyone could shine some light as to the direction I should go with this, I would be very grateful. I have enough knowledge of Xenforo to be able to create my own controllers, but I've not tried much more than that. My general programming experience with developing in PHP and MySQL is fairly good though.

I think you would need to do a template modification to replace the username field and then use a callback to get the username inside the template.
Callbacks are php stuff called from templates.
