America did not exist before 1776, the land here was subject to British rule and therefor a British territory.

However, if you want to go that route and say it existed before 1776, than really every country has existed forever or actually if you want to get super technical no countries exist at all, they are all separate parts of Pangea.

At any rate 2013 years old is completely wrong under any sense of the term
