Quick problem regarding permissions

I have set it to where certain forums "Registered" users can do everything except for make a new thread.

For some reason this makes it to where no one can post new threads, even me as the admin can not post a new thread. I have looked and I am set to Super Admin and Admin as well as Moderator. But for some reason setting it so Registered user can not post it does not allow me.

I am not set to a Registered user, only Admin and Mod.

Are the administrators and moderators also members of the registered user group?

The way to allow certain groups to start a new thread in one node is to Revert the permission for the Registered user group, which will affect everyone, assuming you have your groups set up correctly.

Then Allow it for the groups you want to be able to start new threads, in your case Administrating and Moderating.
