Question for dev staff

    Hi guys, with the release of Xenforo any day now ive got a small question. I run on IPB at the moment, and I'm just wondering what's going to happen with regards to the current IPB passwords. Being as they are hashed differently the passwords won't be able to be used, will you be prompting users to just change their passeords or how will this work.

    I hope this makes sence and hope my spelling is ok as I'm on my iPhone right now and it's annoying to wrote this on the iPhone lol.

    If you import via an intermediate software such as vBulletin using Impex then the passwords will be lost.

    If/when a dedicated importer is available in the future then passwords should remain.

    Are the passwords lost in IPB->vB3/4 ?

    that's terrible. I thought IMPEX was good.

    vB doesn't support multiple password hashing schemes like xenForo does. So it is not possible for ImpEx to preserve user passwords unless the source forum uses a compatible password hash.

    It is possible to modify some code to preserve the hash across two imports and make it work in xenForo. Here is an example:
