Hello, I'm a little outdated, as the fight goes the xenforo and vbulletin? which the current version? I may be wrong but I'm under the impression that this means forsaken? is it true? Hugs!

ok, but what about updates? time does not get updated?

It's going to be a while before there is any update to XenForo (if ever again), this court case was supposed to be over in january or whatever, well that rolled around and now its all pushed back to march.

It's pretty much been that same pattern for the last 2 years, XF lawyers are failing to get this to trial/settlement. Honestly they are almost as bad as IB lawyers for extending this. WikiTravel or whatever was able to wrap up a lawsuit in under 12 months against Internet Brands, why can't XF lawyers do it in over 2 years???

XF hasn't had any sort of update in over 6 months, there hasn't been a major revision in over 14 months, and any contact with management has been limited and uninformative. (Remember that Q&A thread that was promised).

But at any rate, 14 months with no updates and the software is still a decent solution for forums of all sizes, and admins of all knowledge levels. But one should wonder how long will the software be usable with no future updates, and if the current feature set will suit the needs forever.

Looks like IB was just much worse at the foot dragging and avoidance here. More to fear from XF.

The time difference in the two cases fits the extra year created by IB by claiming they were bringing in new witnesses and whole new set of Issues - then at last possible moment, dropping the whole mess because the witnesses declined to be helpful!

The good news is they can't pull that again as the case has now moved into final negotiation (no more new stuff permitted now)

It's not the XF lawyers making delays. It's IB - and the judge. The judge has operated with a strict eye on the possibility of IB pulling an appeal later. Going carefully now blocks that off - which is good in the long term but frustrating as hell now!

Again the good news is we're in the final negotiation phase. Either there is a settlement OR the judge rules what he sees as a fair judgement. Last stop if he decides not to rule on his own is trial with jury in March.

If you'd ever done a major court case like this you'd know how crushing it is to any other effort or commitment. If you don't know the experience you'll just have to take it on trust what it's like. Plus they have to make a living doing something else.
Don't forget that crushing fight is FOR XF so WE can go forward.

Glad you said that. My guess is it'll take at least 2 years for any other forum to catch up.
