XF 2.3 Progressive Web App Stats?

I'm just wondering if there's any access to stats on PWA? Who's using it? Number of members who have it installed? Anything?

Even if you recorded it as installed, it would be difficult to record it ever being uninstalled because the event that prompts you to install it is the only way you could ever determine that it was uninstalled. However, they could have 2 devices and install it on one but deny it (or ignore installing it) on the other. Then, it'd be recorded as uninstalled, all the while they still have it installed on 1. Unless on opening the PWA it "installs" again, but then when they get on the other device that they denied it, it would be recorded as "uninstalled" a further time.

That's my understanding of how PWA works though.

It could be possible, but I do not see how it could.

You can get some stats with ?_pwa=1 on google analytics

utm_source would be better option

Please add an option field at /admin.php?pwa/ to allow admin entry of a value for utm_source variable added to the PWA start_url for automatic and simple Google Analytics tracking of PWA usage.

The current start_url is just ?_pwa=1 which is not easy and friendly for google analytics. Making it instead be ?_pwa=1&utm_source=<ACP value> means that PWA usage/acquisition will be automatically and easily available within google analytics under Acquisition | All Traffic | Source/Medium

For example, here's my xF 1.5 PWA google analytics tracking using the start_url containing...

• Replies: 5
• Forum: XenForo suggestions

You could change this in the web manifest with this addon

The Google analytics option might work… I understand there are some limitations, but I’m just trying to get a sense of how much it’s being used. I believe approximately 90% are accessing the forum using a mobile device. I’m trying to get a sense of how many are using the PWA

I wasn’t aware this existed. I’ve been having some trouble getting Google analytics working correctly in general… I’ll do a deep dive and see if I can’t get that running with this add-on.

I was able to install Better Google Analytics... and I already had the property set up on my GA4 account. For whatever reason I'm getting stuck here.

It wont allow me to insert my measurement ID... If I click on Link Google Account it just takes me on an endless loop. Am I missing something?

Had same problem. Try click on ' Set', it filled in id and api secret automatically after linking to google.

Nothing happens when clicking set. it also created a server error log. This might take some time

Click 'Link Google account' again and then ’Set' after.

When I click "set", I'm prompted to select the property. I do that but nothing in populated into the Measurement ID. I just get this message

Yeah i had to select my property a few times to make it work.

Also disable you adblocker to be sure, maybe it blocks some analytic cookies.
