Problem with email notifications

I need help fixing problems with email notifications so members get them when new threads or messages are posted in a forum. Everyone in group has activated "watch forum" and "email subscriptions" but results are inconsistent. I need someone who has solid experience with Xenforo and experience dealing with the hosting company if that's where the problem is. Will pay. Thanks.
