    For people that use SSL and use //domain.com/forum url format in ACP, Xenforo password reset plaintext email will have this part at the end

    You may log in here:
    //www.domain.com/forum

    You should always have a protocol in your board URL - it's basically only ever used in emails.

    I thought using // is the only way to get SSL working throughout XF forum according to numerous posts here.

    The board URL setting has no effect on what URL the board can be accessed via. SSL setup is basically entirely outside XF; it just respects what's sent to it. The board URL is used when we need to know a URL because we can't use the page you're currently on (like in an email).
