Password Protecting Admin Control Panel

Hello - My name is Dan and I own a small site, and I am definitely not "tech savvy".
I am wondering how to password protect the Admin Control {Panel so that I would be the only one able to go in there and affect changes.
Specifically, I want to keep my moderators from entering the Admin Control Panel.

Thank you for your help and patience.
Dan.

Moderators shouldn't have access to the admin control panel even if you don't password protect it. But to password protect it, it would depend on your webserver. You would need to do a .htaccess if you use Apache or custom Nginx rules otherwise.

As I mentioned - I am not tech savvy.

I am in the process of upgrading to XenForo 2.2.16 Patch 2 which is about beyond my capabilities.
I do not mess around in the ACP as I don't want to screw things up, and I don't want anyone else in there either.

I don't know about "Apache" or "Cloudflare"

Is it possible for me to go in and password protect my ACP?

check the hosting panel of your web host (where you manage your account). if you are using something like cpanel, iirc it has a simple option where you can password protect directory easily.

on the other hand. your moderators would not have same access to the admin panel depending upon how you setup their moderation powers. superadmins have way more capabilities than regular mods. so password protecting the admin panel directory is not even needed in most cases.

I do have a cPanel account.
I have looked but cannot find where to password protect a directory.

I usually have a tech helper to do things for me but they have moved on.
