[OzzModz] Registration Spaminator Stop Spam Bot Registrations

[OzzModz] Registration Spaminator Stop Spam Bot Registrations [Paid] 2.2.0

No permission to buy ($30.00)
I haven't pulled the trigger yet since I've been doing a bit more due diligence, and an end of year tax return. Yuk! Will probably pull the trigger tomorrow.

Just bought Spaminator and installed. Not sure if I have anything to setup? Where do I see the blocked registration attempts?

Enabled now. Is there a link to the front end from Xenforo admin area, or do you have to type it in yourself?

Edit: Oh wait, I see it now on my menu. And...I only had it installed for 10 minutes and I see two fake signups rejected. Brilliant!

It's been under 24 hours and I have 107 spam registrations caught. It is quite interesting to see what the urls are they are trying to promote: everything from essay writing services to hardcore porn.

How do you know it’s hardcore? 😂😂

Haha. Just read the url for a clue!

Couple of suggestions. Firstly, how about a date/timestamp in the table? Secondly, does the Spaminator link really need to be across the menu at the top? I see that as an area for frequently used stuff, while Spaminator is more of an admin thing. Perhaps some option to turn the link off and on would be good.

Yeah I would definitely agree with the above and have been meaning to mention it. Time stamp would be helpful to see how regularly we are getting these bots signing up, find that stuff useful! Also better being a tab in the admin rather than the front end. I also would like to suggest another thing that could be handy is that all the same bots/ips bundle together and can be seen how many times they’ve attempted via a value.

Honestly I think there is alreadt too much information in the log, but I will keep it under consideration.

You can turn off the link in the navigation manager in the ACP.

I thought about that at one point, but honestly, for a addon that is just blocking/loggong bots, it is kinda useless. most of the IP's or emails they add/show are fake or generated by the botnet program.

All you need to do is type in spaminatorlog/ at the end of your board url if you don't have the link.

I suppose for what it is, all that those features isn’t necessary for as long as it’s doing it’s job!

Hi,

I have had this mod installed for a few weeks however we are still receiving spam (around 15+ threads a day), most of the spam is from India. The mod is preventing a large amount of spam from Russia/China etc but unfortunately, spam from India is getting through.

As I said before, this most certainly has to be human spammers. Out of dozens of sites running the addon and hundreds of thousands bots stopped, only your site is still getting that amount of spam. I honestly think you are targeted by some sort of spam group.
