OpenDNS - Do You Use It?

Do you use OpenDNS? If so, what for? If not, why not?

I use OpenDNS mainly as a general DNS server so that I'm not stuck behind my own cache, though it benefits from the phishing protection and such.

What're your uses, and if not here's a link to see what it's all about: OpenDNS

not to the degree this can, unless you are willingly allowing software to spy on you or are somehow routing every resource request through google.
Google DNS is widely used.

If your ISP also supplies your cable or phone, they also collect information and use it for marketing (or sell it to advertisers).

Sounds like you have OTT paranoia. So a company knows what sites you've been surfing. So what? If you realy wanted to keep that info private you would do it through something similar to Tor.

I have used opendns for years mainly because of its reliablity and the caching issues it resolves.
