older threads not in what's new

I'm working on a decent sized forum (95k threads, 650k posts) that I converted from vB4 about a month ago. The members are complaining that when they click the "What's New?" button, they don't get new posts to threads that were started prior to the conversion. Would running "Rebuild Thread Information" fix that?

I'd probably run "rebuild search index" because the what's new is just a search.

Well, that's the first thing that I did. It fixed the main search so members could search all posts from before the conversion but didn't have any effect to the what's new.

It's not a search, so the search index won't do anything.

Only threads that are "unread" will show up in the new threads list - so if they're not showing as bold, they won't show up. This is based on the read marking option (search the ACP for "marking").
