Nodes As Tabs

Nodes As Tabs 1.5.1

No permission to download
Use a link-forum to link to the thread, then make that link-forum (which is a node) into a tab.

Then enable this option to make tab selection work in this case:

Admin CP -> Home -> Nodes As Tabs -> Enable Tab Selection For Link-forums

Note the description for this setting... the target of the link-forum must be a relative link for tab selection to work. In your case:

threads/thread-name.4/

Or without friendly URLs, which ever the case may be:

index.php?threads/thread-name.4/

Pages within the thread share the same base URL so they will be automatically pulled into that tab as well.
What is the "link-forum" and how do i create it, I am trying to make a thread a tab.

In the admin control panel in xenforo when you are creating a node you have the option when selecting node type to choose a link node...it acts as a node in the list but for all intensive purposes it can be a link to anything including a thread at your own forum.

You create one the same way you would create any other node in xenforo.

Yeah when you create or edit that node you can uncheck 'Display in the node list' in it's options and setting and it won't show up in the list.

never mind on forum, why wont it let me change the link URL, it just goes back to the original link - even after changing.

A forum is already a node so you can edit the forum directly and set the tab options. There is no need to use a link-forum.

Need more information. Are you using a link-forum? What are you linking to?
I figured it out - thanks @Jake Bunce

I have the tab for FAQ as a link forum -

The FAQ tab then links to this, I have just started so there are just two FAQ thus far.

Then clicking a link brings you to the thread of the actual FAQ information thread you are seeking.

Maybe a stupid question. I've a 1.1 forum I'd like to upgrade to 1.2 and I've a custom menu in the menubar with link to XF pages and external resources not related to XF.

Do you think I can use this addon to do that? Or maybe does exist something other that's better in my case?

Thank you very much!

You can do it with the Nodes as Tabs add on.

I haven't been able to read through all 32 pages to see if this has been covered.

My question is - how can I create a tab in the navbar that links to an external website URL.

Actually, I don't see "create link node" as an option in "Applications." Maybe I'm not looking in the right place?

Admin CP -> Applications -> Create New Link Forum

Link-forums redirect to links you specify, and this addon can make the link-forum into a tab. A menu of external links can be implemented as child link-forums of the parent node that is the tab.
