No more SEO?

But I can only applaud google for this step, should they really do it. Seriously, this SEO-madness needs to stop and nobody would care about the death of a few hundred millions useless sites with zero original content that only appear in the search results, because one clever SEO guy told them how to exploit search engine logics.

This x 1000.

Saw this on another forum :p

Seems that Google doesn't like SEO nuts either lol.
That is exactly what they should do!

They are using their "power" to attempt to flush out the best content, not the guys who make a living trying to fool them or others.

That's it in a nutshell. Everything you need to know about SEO (well, 95% of it) can be taught or learned in 10 minutes. Most other stuff is either snake oil or worse.

Over optimization =contradiction in terms.

The Google strategy is to create confusion to the webmaster community and yes...Google doesn't like much Seo...less Seo, more Adwords.

Over optimization = optimizing every single thing for a bot instead of for human consumption.

And no, Googles strategy isn't to create confusion for the webmaster community, it is to prevent adfarms and other abusers of SEO practices from monetizing off of others work (They are mostly copy and paste jobs from real content providers).
