Nimbus Hosting - For all your server needs. (A review)

They should give you a great hosting rate for the superb review and the new business it has created for them. I'm by no means a big player in the forum/hosting world but wish they had a U.S. location. Being in the U.S. I would only use a host located in the U.S. Also I love the fact that I can just pick up the phone, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and talk to someone within minutes and have issues resolved without always having to rely on a ticket system. Another advantage by having a U.S. host.
Why should you only consider a host in the US?

Just wanted to say thanks for writing this review. I'm having a complete nightmare with my hosting provider (fatcow) and I'm looking to switch as soon as humanly possible, and due to this thread (and the info on their site) I'm now planning to use Nimbus instead. Sent them an email already and just waiting for a quotation, as long as it isn't outrageous I'll go with it.

Edit: Small update; Tim is awesome, they are migrating my stuff over to Nimbus now, and I couldn't be happier. He was able to answer all sorts of stupid questions from me in less time than it took my old hosting provider to send me automated emails telling me they'll get back to me in 24 hours. I couldn't be happier. Thanks again for the recommendation.

I thought I'd come back and give a brief update on my experience as I'm coming to the end of my first month with Nimbus now;

These people are fantastic. I don't really know what else I can say. They delivered exactly what they promised, they were polite and professional, they respond to my silly questions faster than I can type them out, and they proactively send me emails to check whether things are ok and whether there's anything they can help with. I honestly don't remember the last time I was this impressed with a company. There's no referal in my sig (ok, there's not even a sig >.>) and I'm not getting any sort of a discount for saying this, it's just a genuine account of how I feel after my first month as their customer.

Thanks again for the recommendation.

What do you mean by "sold out?"

(I know why I switched from Nimbus back in 2015, but just curious...)
They've sold out to World Host Group

Tim has left the company. The support team in Hertford don't exist anymore. You can't speak to support on the phone anymore

Maybe this
I don't follow what is selling out.
Is this someone I should know?
i switched from Nimbus to @MattW backin 2015 Nimbus were awful.

I’ve taken on many customers previously with Nimbus over the years, including one that Tim directly asked me to take off their hands.

Yes, assume the same for everyone from the generic email received today. It wasn't the best "prices going up" email I've ever read. It was short and didn't explain much about their reasoning or what the price increase will provide - eg improved support.

I too have been with Nimbus for a long time, about 10 years and had a few chats with Tim in that time when we've had a few issues with them and he pretty much sorted them.

Unfortunately I had to call upon their support recently after Tim sold the business and found it very poor for the prices we pay them. I think if/when we have an issue next time and it's hassle then I'll have to seriously look around for alternatives. I'm happy to pay good money for good service in the knowledge that it won't break and if it does then I can call someone and they sort it, but I didn't feel that when I called them last time.

I was with them for a while. The support appeared good, ie they kept trying, but it was @MattW who eventually sorted out what the issues were and fixed it.

I've been with namecheap for ages. Their stella hosting allows you to have some awesome disk space and you can have up to 3 forums in the basic plan.

I was with Nimbus from day one.

And Global Gold before that, which was also Tim.

I knew they were more expensive, but happy to pay it for peace of mind, and their support was top class.

I found their support to suddenly really decline. Almost felt as though support become an opportunity to upsell/crosssell what you didn't need.

I left them, picking up a much better server, for half the price. After being with Nimbus for over a decade, I was a tad wary but enlisted the support of @MattW to manage the process last July.

Couldn't be more pleased.

Noticed Nimbus was sold very shortly afterwards which served to reaffirm the decision for me.

If you're finding Nimbus to no longer be what they were - Id recommend Matt.
