XF 1.5 New server emailing connection timed out

So I just migrated my sites to a new server but I'm getting alot of these errors in "server errors":

Zend_Mail_Protocol_Exception: Email to xxxx@xxxx.com failed (after retry): Connection timed out - library/Zend/Mail/Protocol/Abstract.php:277

I tried registering to see if any emails were getting sent and they do, but it did take 1 retry aswell.

Anyone know what maybe causing this?

Did you change email server @ /admin.php?options/list/emailOptions ?

Hmm, it seems like if I access the email account from the cpanel I can send emails from it just fine, but xenforo isn't able to send emails.

Looks like if I go to the cpanel > email accounts > Set up email client and try to send "Email Instructions" from there, it doesn't work either...

I've fixed the issue with my sites not being able to send email by changing email host from:

email.mysite.com to host.mysite.com (even though "email" is what's listed in cpanel.

I'm still not sure why when I email accounts > Set up email client (admin@mysite.com) and try to send "Email Instructions" it still doesn't work but that's not important.
