New Registrations aren't working

Hello Everyone,

We have new Members, I even re-registered, testing it, but the Latest Member in forum statistics, is not changing. It has the same name there, prior to moving to Xenforo.

When I re-registered, I received the email confirmation, clicked the link ... but in the ACP ... it continues to show user state as awaiting email confirmation.

Any ideas what I have set wrong?

Thanks.

If you clicked the link but you're still awaiting confirmation, then it didn't take you to a page that completed your registration. This is usually down to the "Board URL" being wrong in your settings. What was the URL shown in the email?

Borbole ... thank you ... :)

Xenforo is loaded in the root directory.

My forum loads at this address : http://domain.com/index.php?forum/

I had the Board URL as : http://domain.com

I changed it (based on your suggestion above) to :http://domain.com/index.php?forum

That is the forum address, and I left the trailing slash off, as directed in the ACP

The primary URL to your board. Do not include a trailing "/" or "index.php". The URL should look similar to this: http://www.example.com/forum

With that change, the pages seem to be still loading fine.

I re-registered again ... and this is the email confirmation link received :

http://domain.com/index.php?forum/index.php?account-confirmation/27624/email&c=47face2dd92caa78

When clicked, it did not confirm (2 index.php's in there) ... and it did not update the Latest Member.

Any more ideas? :)

At your previous post that I have quoted above, I see that the link to validate the account contains the index.php part twice. So I think that that could be the cause of the problem. Can you disable the portal temporarily and re-enter the board url once again.

http://domain.com

My suggestion above was based of the scenario that your forum was installed in a folder and not in the root.

I've disabled XenPorta ... for troubleshooting purposes ... :)

I then made the Board URL ... http://domain.com

Re-registered again, and did not receive an email confirmation at all!

For the record ... the first test registration ... from a day or so ago ... is now showing up as Latest Member.

I guess New Members aren't added to 'Latest Member' until confirmed?

All suggestions are welcome ... :)

Thanks.

Thanks Borbole ... see my post above ... I just did that.

Ah, sorry. I missed your previous post.

I think so. After they confirm their account they will appear at the Latest Member in the forum stats area. Although sometimes it takes a little for it to be updated.

Okay @ after confirmation (just didn't know it).

Okay ... a New Member just made it in ... confirmed and everything ... hmmmm.

I don't know whether they made it in when XenPorta was disabled or not ... but there is success (with one of the above configurations).

Let me play around with this some more before calling in the troops (again).

Thanks Borbole and Mike!

I could only suggest that it's XenPorta related, though I'm not even sure how easy it is to manipulate this area of the code. :)
