JS can be combined too, although I haven't done it in for any of the currently available add-ons. I might look into other ways of optimising this for other add-on though. I'd welcome any thoughts/suggestions you have as I'm not entirely clear on the advantages of loading fewer js files over the advantages of loading only the files you need on a given page.
Each externally loaded JS file is another http request. So ideally there would be just one JS file which contains just the JS scripts required for the page combined into one then loaded. Or loaded via templates.

Has anyone suggested this for XenForo core? If so, I'd be interested to know the development team's reasons for not implementing this. Seeing as this works fine for CSS, I don't see why it shouldn't work fine for JS too.
