Good, supportive new beds are expensive so we squeezed out all we could from our old bed. Lately we tried sleeping on the old bed this way and that way, bought a memory foam topper, tossed and turned, woke up sore and tired again and again, so it was finally time for a new bed.
We decided on a latex bed with pillow top and after the first two nights on it, we slept well and had no aches the next morning. After night three however, I woke up with what could have been lower back pain. I say "could have been" because it wasn't really painful, more of a twinge, so I discarded it as random variation.
Well, night four has come and gone, and I awoke this morning with some serious lower back pain, the kind that burns. I could not lay there any longer, no position felt comfortable, so I had to get up even though I was still tired. I am so bummed.
While I like the 'coil-less-ness' of the new bed and the dust mite resistance of latex, I am questioning whether the pillow top was the way to go. At this point however, I cannot be 100% sure of the source of the problem, as we've only had the new bed for a few days.
So far it has been good, good, okay, bad. Time will tell though, so it is a good thing we have thirty days to evaluate the new bed.
