XF 1.1 Need help with friendly URLs

Without full friendly URLs turned on... works fine.

When I turn it on...


This happens to every page. I would love this to work, it is so much cleaner! help please!

Check your site via FTP, do you see a .htaccess file in your XenForo root?

No, the config files actually do the rewriting for you. Switching to the Friendly URLs basically does nothing more than make sure the web server looks for the config file to inform it how the URLs should be displayed.

Without the config file, it will not know, and thus you see an error.

Think of it as a dictionary for the web server
