Add-on Must I ask? Arcade

Thanks for the update. Not a day goes by that I don't get questions about why we went to Xenforo without an arcade being ready.

I have not forgotten this port. But while I was waiting for some more info from Kev, I decided to try to import one of my larger sites to XF as a test for my much larger site (the one I need the arcade for). I still havent gotten it done. After working with Mike and other support staff here for the past week I think I am really close.

I think he means "close to getting his site ready", so that he can start working on the project. Sounds like we are still at square-1.

I am really confused as to what is actually holding this add on up.
or is all of these things and not really just one thing?
#1 Money?
#2 Time ?
#3 Lack of interest in making or coding the add on?
#4 Lack of coders to tackle a project as this?
#5 Lack of Time to only research the project to see where we are at with all the above, 1,2,3, and 4?
#6 Lack of willingness?

He's in the process of converting a fairly large forum and was having difficulties which required the help of Mike and Kier (or at least correspondence).

Converting, and then getting your forum to where it can be comfortable with the new software will take time, and then he will have to go through and learn the modification system for XenForo.

Not to mention that an arcade system is a large project in and of itself, and will take time. Even if his site had been fully converted and ready when he posted on Thursday ~2 days is not enough time to have done much of the system in the first place.

Then that brings up my next question. Are Stan and Kevin the only two people that can make this mod happen?
Sorry for my persistence but I do not see this going anywhere anytime soon....
So, if that be the case which i really hope that is not....why could not other people that WANT to see this happen and already know how to code with Xenforo, start working on this project?
If I knew how to do anything but edit PHP files I and many others I am sure would try to help out in some way if we knew where to begin. I don't think it would do anyone justice though for someone to have to actually learn
how to code xenforo, then have to start a project as this from scratch and be it they're first add on while users wait for something to be developed. It would be different if a coder that already knew how to code with xenforo stepped up to the plate and we were only waiting for the actual add on be developed. I know it could be done, but again I think it is unreasonable to ask someone to actually have to learn as you mentioned "learn the modification system."
That would revert back to my #4. Ok, someone break out all the tutorials on where to start learning how to code xenforo. I think I seen some in this forum Kier posted somewhere. Madness.....simply madness....
I guess I got my hopes up too quick.

If you'll read Kevins' posts in this thread, you'll know.
And Kevin is the owner of this mod. I'm sure that he and Stan are not the only ones who can make it happen, but so far are the only ones who are willing.

Money usually drives people, but there are a few who don't need money, just time and a passion.

You're right. The current lack of any solution creates an atmosphere that is ripe to introduce a whole new arcade platform, instead of a "ported" product. It was my understanding that it would pretty much have to built from the ground up. If that's the case then all Kevin owns is the current name and code, which is basically, nothing if they are starting from scratch.

You ask good questions. Why hasn't some other author stepped up to the plate? Perhaps this is bigger than we realize. I dunno. I've wondered the same thing myself....especially when several people have promised pledges totaling thousands of dollars.

Whoever gets a working XF arcade first to market, will have the advantage of creating any revenue from it.

lol go through all the pages . Most of devs here whoever released good Add-on's/styles are getting enough donation supports already you don't need to worry about them . I myself donated almost $400 .
For the arcade??
