XF 2.0 Migrating Mybb 1.6.3 to XF

What is the correct way to migrate Mybb 1.6.3 to XF?

I see two ways to do:

1. Migrate Mybb 1.6.3 to Mybb 1.8 then to XF latest
2. Migrate Mybb 1.6.3 to XF1.5 as suggested by XF Support then XF1.5 to XF latest

I mean don't want to see any breaks in URL+thread+posts and their attachments while importing. Permission no problem.

Which can be easier and better way to do?

#1 isn't possible currently, there is no MyBB importer in XenForo 2 (yet), so no matter what you do you'll have to go through XenForo 1.5. Your URLs will definitely break, but there are redirect scripts for XenFOro 1.X which should continue to work for 2.X (and I believe by default MyBB uses the same url structures as vBulletin 3, so you might be able to use the vb3 redirect scripts provided by XenForo https://xenforo.com/community/resources/redirection-scripts-for-vbulletin-3-x.5949/)

There's no need to upgrade MyBB to 1.8 anyway. The current XF1 importer and the future XF2 importer for MyBB will support importing from 1.6.

Chris D when will XF2 importer support importing from Mybb 1.6?

For now if I import Mybb 1.6.3 to XF1.5 do I need to first upgrade it to 1.6.18? or directly from Mybb 1.6.3 to XF1.5?

No ETA at this time. Unfortunately importers are hugely time consuming so we're slowly developing them as time goes on. Even after that, the code for the new MyBB importer in 2.0 will be re-written from scratch so for a more stable and potentially hassle free import, it might be recommended to go via XF1.5 anyway.

It should be fine to go straight from MyBB 1.6.3 to XF1.5.
