Not a bug Malware - Anti Virus Pop Up

We run two xenforo football websites/forums and over the past couple of days have been infested by anti virus pop ups. We initially thought they had arrived through our advertising agency who worked for several days to try and block them but now after consulting with GURU server host it appears we are infected with malware

Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this recently - we need to find how they infected our sites as well as blocking them so was trying to find out if there could be any vulnerabilities. I have attached a screen grab of one of the pop ups.
All have a mmrtb.com domain

Hi Rob, we are currently experiencing the same with our forums. I also contacted our ad agency, but they also think it's something beyond their control. Have you found a solution by any chance? Maybe we have a shared plugin that is affected?
