Hello,

What is the best method of transferring the data from my currently live site in order to be able to develop on it locally without affecting the live site? I've tried AMPPS, though the AMPPS app won't open. Also, could you give simple instructions on how to move a copy of my site from the live servers to the local environment?

In terms of the system/stack specific things for macOS, I would actually recommend following a guide similar to this, rather than using a pre-made stack using things like MAMP and AMPPS:
