XF 1.4 Leaving a conversation but cant get back in?

A mod left a conversation and wants to get back in the group conversation we have, we invited him back and it shows him there but he gets just error screen when trying to access it if we provide him with the url - he does not see it in his list of conversations either.

Any ideas?

Have you replied to it since he left?

Replying may work, but if it doesn't, that implies he left the conversation and ignored it. There isn't a way to get him back in (this is mostly a tool if a conversation is abusive or if it's something you have no interest in being involved in).
