Keyword Replace by Waindigo [Deleted]

Hello! I want to know something: will this replace keywords in thread titles too? If I write a thread named "Xf is great" , will I get something like: <a href= "http://www.xf.com"> Xf </a> is great ? I got this with the damn censorship option :(

I would like craigirl's glossary system, with a popup definition which can include a clickable link to open a new window for more info.

So the TERM itself stays untouched where it appears.
It becomes a link.
The link opens a popup - designable for colours, border.
Popup contains summary definition or whatever teaser or brief text you like.
Can include URLs.
Can include a MORE link to a Post, Thread, Page, Library article, uploaded Image, or external source (if the last on new tab)

A glossary however needs a many > one pattern.

SHELF
SHELVES
SHELVING
BOOKSHELF
all link to the same popup and extended material.
This kind of collection word family already exists in spellcheckers linked to any word. There are existing Dictionary lists that provide the relevant word families. However I dont mind doing it manually as mine is a specialist subject area.

dear Waindingo

just want to ask an important question: how can I disable your plugin to work on people's signatures? It spoils them by output-ing the link as normal text..

Can you help?

Thanks to you and to everyone!

Hi Marco,

Firstly, thanks for letting me know about this problem. I was not aware of it, so I will see if this is something that I can fix.

Secondly, you can either disable (temporary, keeps settings saved) or uninstall (permanent, deletes settings) the add-on. Please see the bottom of this page: http://xenforo.com/help/add-ons/

hey Waindigo
thanks for your superfast reply!

Do you want me to keep it enabled for your debugging purposes, or you can already replicate the error and don't need me to?
Just let me know if you do ok?

Very kind of you, please keep us posted through this thread, so that I can see if you solve it mate! :)

Thanks a ton
Marco

No, I've not been able to replicate. Can you show me an example on your site please? I have just registered.

Of course!

Please use for instance the
Nikon D700
string in your signature.

I'm now reactivating the plugin to show that to you!

If you want you can use the following forum to test the instance:

It looks to me that this isn't a bug with the add-on and you simply need to fix your keyword replacements.

If you select "with URL", you only need to enter the URL and not the full HTML including <a href="...

Edit: on further inspection, it looks like you are replacing the word 'amazon' as well as the word 'Nikon D700', which is resulting in a double replacement. Please try and avoid double replacements for now until I release a fix for this.

Oh OK didn't see the Edit...
So it means the system is kind of "double replacing" the same string, twice?

Will disable the "Amazon" string now and see what happens..

EDIT: it works.. will therefore wait for your next release guys :)
Thanks a ton for helping..

Just did a little test, and as long as you do the Amazon replacement FIRST (or before anything with Amazon in the replacement) it should work fine.

Looks amazing, thanks for the workaround :)
One more question: how am I supposed to switch the items order on the ACP?

Thanks, hope this is the last question :)

There's no easy way unfortunately. I guess just copy and paste the one at the top and move it to the bottom so that you have a space at the top. If you need to preserve the order, then you will have to copy and paste each of them one at a time.

Any one get this working using "overlay"? I am trying to figure it out, no luck thus far...
This will only work if the page that you are trying to overlay is designed to work in an overlay. You may have to do some template edits to get the overlay page you want to work.
