XF 2.1 import vbulletin4 forum tree into a single parent node

I would like to set a parent node to import a vbulletin forum tree into a single parent node. But in the configuration there is no option available to select a parent node. I created a categorie node before I started the configuration of the importer.

It's not possible to do that.

In addition, as you have created content, you won't now be able to preserve IDs.

I know, but I want to import an forum to an existing installation so I loose the IDs in every case.

In the docs I found this:

So it seems that it should be possible to select a parent forum for the import.

Ahh, that must be a new(ish) option (it's been years since I looked at the importers).

What steps/options appear when you start the import?

Yes, I think this option is new.

At the option page I have only these:

1. User
2. Avatars
3. Attachments
4. Custom FAQ pages
5. Notices
6. Smileys

Older versions of XFI did have an option to select a parent node for import, but this has been removed some time ago.

Won't fix - vBulletin: Regression - Cannot select parent node for forums

In previous versions (up to 1.2.0?) it was possible to select the parent node for imported forums. This was very useful, but the code seems to have been removed since - which is kinda inconsistent as FAQ and Blogs still do allow to select a parent node.
