Image Optimizer for XF 2.0

Image Optimizer for XF 2.0 [Paid] 3.0.1

No permission to buy ($29.00)
I've suddenly been getting a "bazillion" of these XF AdminCP errors:

Image Optimizer Error.webp

The PHP version on my server was recently upgraded...thus I'm fairly certain that's the source of the error.

Wanted to upgrade to a newer version of "Image Optimizer"...and hopefully solve the server error issue.

But didn't want to upgrade Image Optimizer...if the upgrade was going to cause an even BIGGER issue as described (loss of older image attachments).

Thanks

If I currently have Image Optimizer 2.0.2 installed...and want to install version 2.1.7...is there a free updater...or do I need to purchase Image Optimizer again to get 2.1.7?

Thanks

Try to download and see what the latest version you can get is. You can download any update he released before your license expired. Only you can see what that is.

How do I do this?

Here at Xenforo when I check...only seems to be the latest version available (2.1.8).

If I go to the developer's website...pretty much the same thing...only latest version available.

Thanks

Some developers let you download previous versions. I guess he doesn't. Until he fixes it or offers it up here, sounds like you are out of luck.

Thanks much for the help. Wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something regarding older versions...since I usually don't fiddle with add-ons very often.

Unless we hear something from the add-on developer regarding access to older Image Optimizer add-on versions...I'm thinking I will either disable the add-on for now...and eventually upgrade to XF 2.3.

If I'm hearing/reading correctly...a product like Image Optimizer add-on is not needed with XF 2.3 (or at least not as beneficial compared to XF 2.2 & earlier).

Thanks:)

Correct and correct. That's about all you can do until he fixes the major bugs. The older versions work fine and there really aren't any major features you need. To me it's all about space savings. I had a site with over 1.6TB of attachments and this reduced them to around 650GB... that's huge, well worth it. Even if only to run it once and never use it again!

Does this mean that if I was to disable or uninstall Image Optimizer now/today...all older images that Image Optimizer "optimized" in the past...will remain "optimized"...and only new stuff will be non-optimized (images added after the add-on was disabled/uninstalled)?

Thanks

Yes. This optimizes the images from the first one until it catches up to the last one, then it optimizes them in real time. If you disable it or uninstall it, all the old images will remain optimized.

2.1.7 seems to be the most stable version of this addon. The most recent version is a hot mess.
2.1.8 works fine with XF 2.2 and 2.3. Which errors did you get?

I guess with XF 2.3 the core webp optimization is enough...

He also released a new version for 2.2 that should fix the random deletion of files.
Which version for XF 2.2 is this?

As far as I can tell...most up to date version available here at XF is 2.1.8. It was released January 2024 (6 months ago)...and I think this is the version folks were saying they had a problem with. Thanks

I did see this version of Image Optimizer on the Developer's website previously (2.2.0)...but found it curious it hasn't been available/posted here at XF...where all the primary users are. Thanks

I'm curious why Image Optimizer version 2.2.0 (released February, 2024) hasn't been posted here at XF...and why the newest version of Image Optimizer for XF 2.3 (3.0.1) hasn't been made available here at XF either.
