We need to optimize images on our site and have a question on this Add-on.

1) does it apply to files within the XFMedia Addon?

2) if so, we have one folder in which we collect full size images for use in an annual calendar and want them to remain full resolution / full size. Can specific folders be excluded?

2. The add-on does not scan all your files; any other images remained in your storage.

Well, i can say that after this add-on, was the best investment that i did for my website in years in terms of performance and space saving on my server.

Just look at that:



Just a "little" more ~39 GB to go.

The performance impact on loading pages is huge, out of this world.

Congrats again @truonglv. You can use my prints if you want.

Does this add-on optimize new uploads as well, or does it only process old/existing images?

Can the optimization be run from the XF CLI?

I have it disabled without problems on my staging server (same as production but without attachments).
To my knowledge it's not possible to run it via cli.

This is more a question for @truonglv
I am currently at 20%. 25% ready in 2 weeks. In the past I have used a different application to make the images smaller.

I'd be interested to see if you get better results than what I'm seeing.

Were your images already optimized at all? You're not going to be seeing a big improvement if you've optimized anything previously.
