How do you all feel about new domain extensions?

.com or .{country} like .ca, .co.uk, .com.au. etc.

It makes no difference in ranking according to Google but I think it does for clickthroughs.

Many of the newer on es look cheap to me, but that's probably a personal prejudice on my part.

Yeah, maybe I'm old school but .com or a national TLD should be good enough for most uses. Some of the new ones are cute but oddly specific for general use.

I don't think domain name matters anymore at all. Content is King.

Although I do have .club that I use for a semi private site.

The new TLDs do make it possible to have some fun with the domain names though if that's your thing.

But imo it makes absolutely no difference what your domain is. All about the content.

What you said applies more to dot-com however. If you can't get Scribble.com but you can get Skrybl.com, yeah sure... but good luck with Skrybl.live! 😂

Probably .com is still best overall, particularly for a business, but I think it depends partly on the content. If your site is mainly a fan site, or a discussion forum for books or movies or gaming in general, etc. - maybe an escort service, ha ha - then something like .club seems like it could be a pretty good fit.

I love them. My site name is Star Army and I was able to get Star.Army the moment it became available and now I got a short URL for my site. It doesn't get better than that, right?

Yes I also have a vanity shortened URL. It's a dot-media, and the company name has media at the end. Also have the dot-com like you.
