How can you know about xenforo? I knew it through my friend when he was setting his website.

I found out about xenforo via VB when i was an avid user of VB. I'm now an avid user of XF.
To be fair i was a little wary of what XF was going to do but then i looked it up myself and thought this might be the software for me to use.
In the past i was using plenty of free ones like proboards and the like. They were ok but this was better.
Have never looked back.
