Ok, time for a feature request/change...

Can you make it so that it only alerts if there are 'new' alerts or conversations?

On here I have a conversation I'm deliberately not reading yet, however this extension keeps on alerting me every 5 minutes :)

xF seems to be able to do it (it only alerts with 'new' alerts, & conversations during an Ajax request).

Unfortunately that isn't possible at the time, I'd have to change it to actually use your username/email + password combo or use your xfToken data. The reason it shows up as error without your work around is because it's actually an error page it's accessing. I agree with the annoyance issue on that but I feel uncomfortable making it require sensitive data.

Currently, this is what it's accessing: http://xenforo.com/community/?_xfResponseType=json you can see that it sends an error message and the number of alerts and messages you have. There's no additional data available because I'm sending an invalid request (ajax without the token).

Any thoughts on why I might be getting two alerts with different images for my site? Don't duplicates on the other XF sites it checks.
Happeening to me too now:

At least after double checking my Facebook image settings and making a couple of changes, both my alerts now show the same logo!

This might be a long shot but have you guys happened to log in at http://domain.com and http://www.domain.com ? I think that might be the issue, it may not be recognizing it as the same domain. It shouldn't be an issue because it uses the forums base href= tag to store the url but it's literally my only guess at this point lol.

It's also weird that you had different logos... is one a test board or something?

Always access the site through http://zroadster.org, in fact if I try typing www.zroadster.org it doesn't list in my URL history and tries to search for it

My dev board is usually loaded up in Firefox on my second screen when I use it.

I think taking the time to make sure all the style properties were the same on the three different styles I have fixed the different logos showing. I did have slightly different settings, which are now all in sync.

I'm personally not bothered by having 2 alerts. 2 is better than none, and it's a really useful little browser add-on!

same here and my htaccess has my non www redirecting to www

I'm getting three now o_O!

All that's changed between getting 2 and 3, is that my forum has been moved from /forum to the root folder.

I started getting double alerts now on one of the communities I visit. Downside is that it's annoying. Upside is, I can debug it now.

I don't think you can, actually. I was meant to suggest it at some point as a feature.

I stopped using the Extension eventually because I was getting alerts from sites that I didn't want alerts from. If there was tighter control over which sites notified about what that would be ideal.

Why are you running 1.3 RC2?

You shouldn't run a pre-release version of the software in a production environment.

Too many modifications, it'd be a nightmare to update it, we'll do that one day eventually. The sad news is I don't get any notifications at all. I do however get them here.

That still doesn't make much sense. If you're running 1.3 RC2 then there is not likely going to be any modification issues going from 1.3 final, at least. There's hardly any dramatic changes in 1.3.1. I don't get it.

You might find that it would work in the current XF version. Certainly no one else has reported an issue...

Believe me, there would be, we have two DBs now that interract between each other the whole time but that's a horse of another colour.
We'll try to update and see if that'd fix the issue.
