French language in process ..

Bonjour, une traduction francaise est en court, cela représente environ 3000 expressions à traduire contre 17000 (partie forum) pour vBulletin, c'est donc tout à fait réalisable.

This is a proper xenforo language so it is really technical .. may I suggest ' noeud ' for node
and sibling node as 'un sous-noeud' .

1 suggestion..
For the non-admin part, I would use terminology that french people understand and use.. I know it is not allways politically 100% correct. But I hate some french forums where i have to lookup words (and I am french!!!) because I don't know what they mean. There are some french words that might be correct in translation, but that french users do NOT use in their everyday internet language.

So sometimes "un anglicisme" might not be the correct translation, but everybody would understand it.

This is only a thought, i appreciate what everybody is doing, but sometimes french translations, if they are really correct are not allways userfriendly.

I thought about this, because when i read "un sous-noeud" it is something, as a non-xenforo addict, would make me think of: "tête de noeud" or what ever.. loooool.

Ce ne sont que des idées qui me passent par la tête. Encore une fois, à tous les traducteurs: mille mercis!

Yes I understand ... I try to translate without losing the meaning as well.
As per the example of node, it is a technical terminology that Kiev & Mike used ... so we have 3 options :
1. leave it as is : node
2. introduce a new terminology
3. translate word for word

but then again we can always update with your feed back. So please by all means if you have a suggestion about a term let us know It's always a work in progress ( I have to admit my every day internet language is not French and I completely understand your point)

Car si dans l'ACP il faut explique quelque chose comme:

Node permissions of a parent node are inherited by child nodes.

Avec le mot "noeud" il faudra une explication de texte pour expliquer la phrase, qui pourtant en anglais est simple.

Noeud ne me plait pas trop non plus, difficile de trouver un équivalent
