Forum suggestion: Remove sales threads

Trying to implement that on a forum full of admin's who are used to getting their own way would be like trying to herd sheep...

Personally speaking, moderating this community is rapidly becoming more and more of a chore due to all the unpleasantness, bickering and arguing.

If you hire me, I'll get them in line.. just saying .

In my 'Classifieds' section we do not allow chit-chat or negative commentary in the thread. It's a rule of 'If you don't like it, move along'.

We have set rules and while some follows the rules, that is the one section that I find myself cleaning up the most often.

I'd love to see a xenforo.org (classifieds/unofficial add-ons/show off your site sections) with central registration so we don't have to register again. I'm also cool with whatever works for the whole community.

It's already been posted that everything will be under one roof. Of course that could change.

I get the point completely, but these guys who have offered things have been trolled beyond belief. My motto is literally if I don't like a thread I'll stay out of it, sure I think selling some random domain on xenforo.com for $1000 that has nothing do with XF is out of the picture but I'm not a moderator, nor is it my forum. It's not my place to tell him what belongs in an area designed specifically for things not related to XenForo but still business related.

This doesn't bug me in the sense that KMA have made it clear to design some sort of resource section down the road so I'm in no rush to police threads, just as EVERYONE else shouldn't be in a rush because we have moderators/owners for that. XenForo comes with a built in Report button if some of you didn't know, if you think something is inappropriate, report it and let the true decision makers deal with it.

To start a thread and get so worked up over 3 topics in the past week just seems absurd to me.

it is not just you that it seems absurd to. It is just the ones who are so upset over what COULD POSSIBLY happen here, are more vocal than the uh...people who see things like a report button and moderators as having a place

I can't see this thread improving much past this point and as an official response has been given then we can consider this resolved.

Just to follow up on this, a new forum has been created for third-party services: http://xenforo.com/community/forums/third-party-services.42/

In addition, it has been decided that the buying or selling of domains, licenses or products in general is not permitted.

There are other forums which are more suitable for this.

We hope you all understand the reasons for this.
