If you have disabled and re-enabled the slider, all previously promoted threads will have been removed.
You will need to promote them again.

But when you click to update, the promoted box is already ticked so they do not appear to be unpromoted.

The images have been deleted when you disabled the slider, so they won't show.

Update them and re-upload images.

Which will explain why it doesn't appear, however the promote to slider box is ticked, so I'm not sure what else to do.

You could probably achieve it with template and CSS changes.

I think I demonstrated something similar to that previously, if you can find it in the thread.

I have searched for this number of times. I searched again today. But unable to find anything that can make the slider block look like the standard FT block.

You're just going to have to experiment with the template HTML and CSS to achieve the look you want.

I have been doing some more testing. The issue is on my test site.

What happens is this:

My live site is working absolutely fine with slider on FT page. So I made a new test site (following your instructions: https://xenforo.com/community/threads/how-to-duplicate-a-live-site-to-use-as-a-test-site.67118/ )

The test site is identical to the live site it seems in all respects except that the slider is not there.

The featured threads are all there and ticked as promoted to slider, so I try this:

• Update the thread as is
• Update the thread with slider unticked, then update again with ticked (prompted for and upload image)
• Unfeature and refeature with slider (prompted for and upload image)

None of those work at all. I have checked that the data folder uploaded to the server and it is fine, I can see the FT slider images there:



So I then repeated the whole procedure with a new duplicate site with exactly the same results. The whole site works fine (exactly as live site) except the Slider.

There is one other difference which is that in mobile view the FT page has a large, blank page background area to the right of the page - all other pages fit the window exactly as expected.

Due have nay idea what would cause the slider to not appear on a duplicated site?

Is the test site on the same server?

If you inspect the page, can you see what is causing the blank area in the narrow view?

Edit: Try rebuilding the master data and purging any server level cache, if you have caching implemented.

No, but I'm not sure what to look for. Page source does show that slider backgrounds URLs in /data/ exist and are correct.

It's running Xcache with 2 minutes worth of caching on compiled PHP scripts. There is no other caching on your test site apart from that.

I've disabled xcache on the server, so there is now no caching in place.

I believe this is an issue with Chrome - if you use a proper RSS reader (or even Firefox), there's no problem.

I should be using the same code as the core so I'm not sure why it's erroring.
I'll have to look into it.

Edit: Sent you a small code change via conversation to see if that makes any difference.

Just to follow up, it appears to be a bug in XF which is fixed for the next release (thanks @Mike )

I will also make a small change to the code to apply the same fix for anyone who isn't planning to upgrade.

I recently install this addon and I followed all the setup instructions but unfortunately its not showing in front end of the forum. I would like to ask if I did something wrong.
