Oh I see what you did.
You changed the blocks style properties, despite repeatedly being told to change the page style properties.
You also didn't revert the SPs as it clearly states to do so in the resource update.
Some SPs had been customised but still had the same default settings, so any future changes will never be applied.
You also have your style as a child style of the default (not selectable), which itself has customised style properties and templates.
To summarise, your style settings are a mess and you need to sort it out.
You also fail to follow any instructions and guidance, time and time again.
No wonder you always have so many issues.

Ok- so, as I thought, the FT's on the FT page cannot all be the same size due to the the large icon image size in the new update?
Change the icon size in the options.
Set the icon SPs to match the avatar SPs - as it clearly states.
Try reading the resource update next time.
I spend a considerable amount of time documenting everything and creating the updates so I don't have to waste time answering questions such as this.

Any easy suggestion on how to add a Google Adsense ad nestled in between the featured threads on the featured thread page?

I did revert the two templates that had changes (after the update) then made the custom changes again.
And believe me, I ask as minimal questions as possible for fear of getting my head bitten off by you or Martok (I will not @him to have him come running to give me a whipping on the boards.
)I'm sorry if I spend money and invest my time and personal thoughts, recommendations and my opinions here in this add on - about this add on and here on the Xenforo boards.
Just remember- everyones skill levels vary- hence the help forums and support available here and I'm sure 59 of the posts here in this add on thread had to be some sort of question or concern about your product - that is not free mind you.
I do appreciate the help that is useful when i get it - if I get it and when needed.
On that note - if you can recommend my next step to updating this add on Properly I would be obliged.

I had already liked this and hope others do too. I hope that Mike & Kier will then consider this in the near future.
For me, I think that the only thing missing from Featured Threads is the ability to set the FT page as a home page and have the Home tab highlighted for this and it's the latter that currently can't be done.
BTW, loving the new upload icon ability, it's a great addition.
I may have just added that to the "To Do" list for 2.3...
Bear in mind this was never intended to be a portal, but it does seem to have morphed into one.
Perhaps I should rename it to CTA Featured Threads Portal...

It does seem to be morphing into a portal and one that is very good value with quality support too.
Personally I do think that the main focus of featuring threads across the forums should remain, and hopefully that's your direction. As has been said by yourself and others, forum users generally aren't interested in a portal and rarely visit, it's the guests that have more of an interest in a portal. This is one of the reasons I uninstalled another popular portal product and purchased Featured Threads - I wanted to highlight interesting topics to my members, with a side benefit of doing the same for guests. A portal page for FT, which can pretty much be achieved now, is a great addition and IMO that's enough. I wouldn't want it to turn into some bloaty front page with fancy sliders, various views and widget sidebar etc (and I'm sure that's not your intention) as there's other products for that.
Anyway, keep up the great work, Paul.
I look forward to 2.3 but I'm just enjoying 2.2 as it is.

@Brogan - if I want the avatar image on the FT page the same size as Icon, (change setting as you suggested) do I need to rebuild a cache of some sort? avatar is still small but the spacing where it should resized looks correct. OR is it not possible to have the avatar on this page only 192x192.

When unfeaturing a thread that has a custom icon, then, featuring that thread again, is the icon still used? Saved on the server I guess if so?
