Since you have not answered my question but have posted 3 times since I asked it, who will buy an addon that can't be disabled or un-installed no matter the discount?

Apologies, the answer is not simple because Xenforo itself does not cater for situations where an addon which creates custom thread types is disabled or uninstalled.
To resolve this, we have an additional addon which can be used. Let me confirm with my coder how to handle this and reply promptly to you.

OK. I'm interested in getting this. I just want to make sure I can disable it and/or uninstall it if I decided later that I no longer want to use it. Thanks!

I have released the free addon which stops the server errors for Competitions and any other addons which leave behind orphaned content types when disabled or uninstalled.

Fix Missing Content (Thread) Types (Free addon)

Fixes errors caused by Xenforo not recognising orphaned custom content types
 
Just picked this up @Stuart Wright.

Seems pretty straightforward but a couple of observations.

When a contest thread is created it does not appear to have any link back to the contest in question which is an odd experience. I know you can physically key in links in the description but it's odd given you've extended it to a thread type (usually there's a header that leads to the parent entry in these types of threads).

Would be good to have a few defaults i.e. default forum (if one isn't specified).
Entry Criteria: Would be good to put a plain description in place of entry permission user group msg or override the message at least per contest.
Default contest placeholder image if one isn't specified.
