New updates are fantastic. And the changes into the Style system are great.

I do however, still think that Notices/Ads section in the AdminCP need to go away as they are really outside the scope of the addon and are things that you can easily do with the Template Modification system. Its just clutter.

Also, right now you can't disable custom BBcodes. I have a custom BBcode called [stream] that I need to disable.

Glad you like them. I don't think it's a bad idea to have the notice and ads options as it allows you to display multiple items in rotation.

As for the BBCodes, I will add the option to disable custom bbcodes in a future release.

Personally i like the notice system and i use it, it helps to pass information on to users that seem to just stay in the shoutbox talking.

This is likely a bug, but the browser tab will keep flashing saying its got new chat messages even know there is no new ones, it don't happen all the time.
Also it would be nice if you could make that a admin setting to if we want the browser tab flashing or not.

@Delazar, the problem with this BBCode is that it needs a view to render so when you load the chat from the listener, it won't work. I couldn't find a solution to this problem.

Mind sharing more about this? Well, if it's kinda hard to utilize the built-in spoiler BBCode. You can probably utilize a self-coded spoiler BBCode, I assume?

Is there a log function within this chat?

It's important for my site that a history of the chat messages are stored somewhere. A thread or even better a real history function with a search would be great.

@BobbyWibowo, the XF BBCode parser doesn't work without a view and spoiler, code, quote, doesn't get parsed.
@Scharesoft, there is a permission based (view/search) archive with the following features:

1. Search by room
2. Search by date (end/start)
3. Search by usernames (You can search by multiple users)

You can also set the admin option to "Delete messages older than x days". You can disable this feature by setting it to 0.

Some suggestions:

• hide rooms. I want to create a chat room only for my team and only they should see it in the list of rooms.
• stay in multiple rooms for example with tabs to switch between them (only for the users with the permission to stay in multiple rooms)
• search in all rooms together
• search for message content
• list of rooms in navigation tab
• change the display mode for each user in his options (so if a user want to see it on each page, he can change this option)
• spam protection (if a user write too much messages in a too short time)
• direct links to the chat rooms in the url

Also:

Consider giving room creators mod rights over their room, and also consider blocking add room for chat-banned users

This add on makes my forum get error. when i dissable this add on everything back to normal. I have try many times. My users that have chat permission also faced the same problem.
Especially when using chrome.

@SoeHoe, try clearing the browser cache. Also when upgrading, make sure that all the files including JS have been replaced with the new files. And if you have directly made changes to the templates, you might need to revert them back to make sure that nothing is missing from the templates.

Also, another issue I am having is with the disabled "MEDIA" bbcode. I have disabled the code because I dont want people posting videos in the chat room. However, when someone posts a youtube video, instead of it converting the text into a link, it tries to convert it to a media bbcode. So rather then posting the link, it posts "[MEDIA BBCode is not allowed!]". Even though all they tried to do was post a link.

The bug I've noticed is that the disallowed BBcodes do get parsed when message is edited.

As for the other issue, is fixed in 1.10.0. In this version you will also be able to disallow custom bbcodes.

Any chance to add an ignore/block function? people are whining that users they got blocked still show up in the chatbox etc.

@derpyhooves, it will be available in 1.10.0. If you have ignored users, they will be ignored in chat too (it will be a user setting).
