@Siropu

I receive this message when I click on the tab "chat" => Chat page is currently disabled.
However, the chat page option box is checked and I tried with "home, middle, end" but no change even if I leave the box empty...
User permissions are ok and this bug appears since the upgrade from 1.82 to 1.90
I tried to disable the add-on and enable and tried once again but same issue...

Any fix or solution?

Well, without you stating what kind of hosting service you are on, it's rather hard to guess. Shared hosting is usually notorious for not working well with chat programs (at least the "economical plans" that a lot of people buy). What runs great on a 192GB dual processor dedicated server may not work as well on a shared hosting account with a maximum of 25 mysql connections.

Thanks for the feedback. What are you running your forum on?

Unfortunately I'm not entirely sure what the setup is exactly, which is the reason why I mentioned it could just be me. I know that everything is hosted on Amazon AWS, I believe XenForo is running on an EC2 instance and all the uploads and files stored in the data folder are pulled from a S3 bucket. As for the DB, I have no clue, perhaps a Amazon RDS instance. I've run cometchat, arrowchat, taigachat and iflychat all with absolutely no problems what so ever with my current setup. The setup is all above and beyond me really.

However, I did test it on another site, which is on a DigitalOcean LEMP stack. XenForo files are hosted on a instance with 2GB memory, 40GB SSD and the mysql database is hosted on its own instance with 4GB memory, 60GB SSD (in the same data center) all running on Ubuntu 14.04. There are some other DO instances running that manage redis, proxies, elasticsearch and lots of other things I have no idea about. Anyway, I've got the same problem with similar numbers of users 35 - 50. On this same setup, I've run the same chat software as the AWS setup at 70+ users in chat, all without a problem.

@Betclever, I found out about that problem and will be fixed. I have changed the admin option to add tab position and forgot to make changes to chat page. :oops:

Version 1.9.1 fixes some bugs in chat page (ban notice display, permission and some code issue), archive (search by password protected rooms if has password bypass permission and prevent search hacking if doesn't have permission to view certain rooms).

Also, "Unknown page" in last seen activity now displays "Viewing chat page".

I haven't bought the add-on. In fact, I'm still wondering whether to buy TaigaChat Pro or not. But, it seems like this one may prove to be better than TaigaChat.
I think for bigger boards a speed mode should be added, like taigachat where the chat is saved/loaded from a text file on the server, to speed up the chat and lower the cpu/mysql usage.
Would love this as well!

Don't get me wrong taigaChat is a great chat add-on but it seems to lack many features and basic mod tools that people have requested for a long time now that Luke seems to never add, whereas with this add-on Siropu seems more than willing to add requested features in a speedy manner, what in the long run of Xenforo gives it a better outlook when the dev is active in fixing and adding features, even more so with the planned Xenforo 2.0.

Better to reverse the order version IMO. easily to find and download ;)

@SoeHoe, see if it's ok now.
@Tai Coromandel, you can set the bot name color by using HTML in the bot name input Option. <span style="color: yourcolor;">Bot Name</span>
To style the bot message row and data you can use this class: .siropuChatBot {}
@Delazar, the problem with this BBCode is that it needs a view to render so when you load the chat from the listener, it won't work. I couldn't find a solution to this problem.

New updates are fantastic. And the changes into the Style system are great.

I do however, still think that Notices/Ads section in the AdminCP need to go away as they are really outside the scope of the addon and are things that you can easily do with the Template Modification system. Its just clutter.

Also, right now you can't disable custom BBcodes. I have a custom BBcode called [stream] that I need to disable.

@Siropu

Suggestion:
  • Add an option with favorites smilies.
  • An option to let the choose to the user to change background colors so customize everything on the chat like UIX does.
