Change login bar to an overlay

I have found an issue with this modification. Saved login data is not automatically pasted in the login fields, making it useless for the browser to save the login data as you always need to enter it manually.

I'm not sure there is anything I can do about that. Saving logins is a feature of the browser. It may be that your browser doesn't know how to fill in form fields in an overlay.

Is it working with your browser? I tried latest versions of Firefox and Chrome. Both of them failed to paste the login data in the overlay. But it works with the default xenforo login.

Haven't tested it. But that's a browser feature. It's not something I have control over.

But it works with the login overlay from IPB boards and with the default xenforo login.

Just an update: As suspected, it's an xenforo issue as I have this issue only with xenforo sites.

Make sure you added all of the red code:

One piece disables the scroll menu, the other enables the overlay.

It works now but I have theme called "animate" there's another button you can use to login :/ Just redirects me to another page.

You would have to find that link in the templates and add the overlay trigger to it.

This is a pain, I really like to use the overlay method in some designs but it's not end-user friendly when it doesn't save form data. Wonder if it could be the way cookies are handled (or not) through the overlay code?

Yeah, this really sucks when I always have to type my login data. Ironically the browser offers you to save the login data, but it's useless when the data isn't automatically pasted.

Hello, thank you for this modification. Great idea and it is exactly what I was looking for.

After applying the modifications to the templates, this is what I get. I'm running XenForo 1.2, maybe that's why:
